Hot Bones is a free weekly newsletter about how to live a more sustainable life right here in Charlottesville.
It’s also got weather reports and local climate jobs and concerts and pets to adopt. It’s somewhere between a community bulletin, an REI catalogue, and an open mic night.
It comes out every Friday afternoon.
And there’s no judgment or doom and gloomy-ness. In fact, I’m still addicted to paper towels.
Topics really run the gamut:
🌼 What’s in bloom this week?
🐟 Where’s the best place to fish?
🌳 When is the next tree planting workshop?
♻️ How can I recycle in Cville?
🥑 What are local businesses doing to promote sustainability?
➡️ Buncha other good stuff
I’d be thrilled if you subscribed and joined the community!
Why is it called Hot Bones?
My long-suffering wife is a person who runs hot all the time. And I’m a person who runs cold. So we fight over the thermostat a lot.
One day she turned it way down and looked back at me and said “LISTEN i have HOT BONES so let me live my life.”
And I thought that was a good metaphor for what it’s like to live on a warming planet. So I stole her line.
